Frequently Asked Questions About Collecting, Appraising, And Selling
Whether you’re just starting your collection, inheriting family coins, or ready to sell a lifelong trove of treasures, we know you’ve got questions. At Keywell Collectibles, we believe in honest answers, clear communication, and empowering every client with the knowledge to make confident decisions.
Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about coin appraisals, selling, consignment, custom silver pours, and working with us—locally and nationwide.

Coins, Currency, and Collectibles
Do you offer free coin appraisals?
Yes! We offer free overview appraisals for small batches and provide formal, fee-based evaluations for estate or insurance purposes.
Should I clean my coins before bringing them in?
No—please don’t! Cleaning coins can significantly reduce their value. We strongly recommend leaving them in their original state.
What types of items do you appraise or buy?
We appraise and purchase U.S. and foreign coins, currency, precious metals (gold, silver, platinum), jewelry, and even vintage toy cars.
Can I get an appraisal if I’m not located in Michigan?
Absolutely. We work with clients nationwide. You can email us photos for small reviews or ship your collection securely for a formal evaluation.
How do I know if my collection is valuable?
That’s exactly what we help determine. Rarity, condition, demand, and historical significance all play a role—our appraisals help you understand your collection’s real-world value.
Selling, Consignment, and Trust
Do you buy entire collections or just individual items?
We do both. Whether it’s a single coin or an estate-size collection, we can make an offer or help list items on consignment.
What is the consignment process like?
You bring or ship your items, and we handle everything—valuation, listing, selling, and shipping. You get paid when the item sells.
How are prices determined when selling to you?
We base our offers on current market trends, recent sales of similar items, rarity, and condition. Everything is done transparently.
Is my information and collection secure during the process?
Yes. All evaluations and transactions are handled with discretion and professionalism—whether in person, at a show, or through secure shipping.
Mafia Metals: Custom Metal Pouring
What is Mafia Metals?
Mafia Metals is our custom-poured silver division. Every piece is handcrafted by Armand using fine silver and artisan molds.
Can I send my own silver to be poured into a custom piece?
Yes! We accept silver bullion for custom pours. A small fee per ounce applies depending on the design complexity.
Are all Mafia Metals pieces unique?
They are! No two pours are exactly alike. Each bar or shape is hand-finished, making it truly one-of-a-kind.
Nationwide Service and Next Steps
Do you travel for in-person appraisals?
Yes, for large or estate-size collections. We can meet at your home, bank, or another secure location by appointment.
What areas do you serve?
While headquartered in Michigan, we proudly serve clients nationwide via secure shipping, virtual evaluations, and event meetups.
How do I get started?
Simple—just contact us or email photos of your collection. We’ll guide you through next steps based on your goals.
